West Wratting Village Website

We hope this website will be helpful to both parishioners and visitors to West Wratting.  It aims to provide information about the village, a calendar and news of upcoming events, and minutes from Parish Council meetings. It also hosts an electronic version of the Challenge village newsletter. This website is maintained by the West Wratting Parish Council.

  • Wadlow Windfarm Community Fund

    The comprehensive overhaul of the organ at St Andrew’s Church, West Wratting was been successfully completed this month.  This work was made possible by a grant from the WWFCF in 2012, and generous local donations.

  • Reporting Dog Fouling

    Despite a number of well-publicised appeals, dog fouling is a persistent problem on our High Street pavements and the Recreation Ground.  The Parish Council (11 Mar) urges you to report any incidents you see to a Councillor.  Alternatively you can report incidents online directly to South Cambs DC.  The law says: 

  • Neighbourhood Watch

    From E-Cops update 12 February:  Please have a think about joining a Neighbourhood Watch Scheme in your area. The information and work done by Neighbourhood Watch is of great help to us. Further details can be found at www.cambsnhw.org.uk  (Does West Wratting still have such a scheme?)

  • First Friday Bridge

    The First Friday Bridge Club will next meet in the Village Hall on Friday 4th January at 7.30pm.  This will be the occasion of our Christmas party.   All are welcome to join us for a drink and an evening of Bridge. No charge but a contribution of food (nibbles) would be appreciated on this occasion.

  • West Wratting Housing Needs Survey

    Cambridgeshire ACRE was commissioned to carry out a Housing Needs Survey in West Wratting Parish earlier this year. Read the results here or, with graphics, here. 

  • The Peter and Ruth Lloyd Trust

    The Peter and Ruth Lloyd Trust invites applications for an award of approximately £800, made annually to a student from the neighbouring parishes of Carlton, Great Thurlow, Little Thurlow, West Wickham, West Wratting, Weston Colville and Withersfield.

  • West Wratting Housing Needs Survey

    The Parish Council is concerned that there may be a shortage of affordable housing for local people in West Wratting.  To ensure all views are considered please complete and return the ACRE survey form by Friday 19 October, regardless of personal need.  Information provided is confidential.

  • Adult Education at Linton & Sawston Village Colleges

    Courses start in September. Find out more from adulteducation@lvc.org and www.sawstonadulted.org

  • Care For Our Community

    There will be a meeting at 7:30pm at West Wratting Village Hall on the 13th August to agree a way forward following presentations on the 27th June from the Community Warden Scheme, Histon and Impington’s Older Person’s Co-ordinator and Burwell’s Parish Nurse.

  • All the bells

    As part of a national initiative we will ring the bells of St Andrew’s Church at 8.12 am on Friday 27 July for at least 3 minutes.
