Join the National Community Walk – Say No to Kingsway Solar
KSCA is joining a nationwide walk to raise awareness of the impact of large-scale solar farms like Kingsway Solar. Our local walk in West Wratting – starting and finishing at the village hall – features a 2.25-mile route (or 1-mile option), passing through areas directly threatened by the proposed development.

🚗🅿 Parking at West Wratting recreation ground.
🗓 After the walk, enjoy tea, cake, and a short talk about the solar farm at the Village Hall.
📍 Why it matters: Over 1,500 hectares of farmland and countryside could be lost.
🎥 BBC coverage expected – let’s make our voices heard!
🙋♀️ Volunteers needed for marshalling and refreshments– please contact us if you can help.
🐕 Dogs welcome on leads.

he national walk is the brainchild of Block East Pye Solar, a community group that’s campaigning against a solar farm development in Norfolk. Here’s their press release:
National Walk to Defend the Countryside: Over 25 Campaign Groups Unite This Sunday
This Sunday 8th June, over 25 community campaign groups across the UK will take part in a coordinated National Walk to raise awareness of the increasing industrialisation of our countryside under the guise of “green energy.”
The walks, taking place simultaneously nationwide, across England, Wales and Scotland, aim to highlight the growing number of utility-scale solar developments proposed on productive farmland, in ecologically sensitive areas, around homes and conservation villages, and across beloved local landscapes.
Locally, Block East Pye Solar, a community group opposing the East Pye Solar proposal in South Norfolk, have organised this event and will be leading one of these walks, as part of the national movement.
“We’re joining forces with groups from across the UK who are facing similar threats to their rural communities,” said a spokesperson from Block East Pye Solar. “This coordinated walk is a peaceful but powerful way to show the scale of public concern.”
