Local Government Reorganisation Webinar

West Wratting Parish Council received the following email. It advertises a Webinar for residents about Reorganising Cambridgeshire’s councils on Friday 6th March at 5pm that you can register to attend.

As you’ll know, the Government is consulting on four options for Local Government Reorganisation (LGR) until Thursday 26th March, with a decision earmarked for Summer 2026. As you’ll also know, South Cambridgeshire District Council, alongside Cambridge City and East Cambridgeshire, has put forward Option B.

To this end, the three above authorities are jointly-hosting webinars to offer attendees the chance to learn more and ask questions of leadership figures in attendance. The two webinars of note to you are:

Weds 25th Feb, 5 – 6pm: Option B for Town Councils, Parish Councils and Residents’ Associations

Fri 6th Mar, 5 – 6pm: Option B for Everybody

Agenda:

  1. 15 minute presentation by the three Leaders to cover: LGR Process / Timeline, What is Option B, specific information for stakeholder group, what to expect of the consultation.
  2. A selection of pre-determined questions for Leaders/CEs to answer.
  3. Open Q&A – we will be able to monitor any incoming questions via the organiser / presenter view on teams before publishing them for the rest of the webinar to see.

If you or any of your councillors will be interested in these events, do forward them these links – you can reserve your space and will be sent a meeting invite. Additionally, if you could promote this to local residents through your channels, I’d be incredibly grateful.

Best wishes,

Town and Parish Councils Liaison Officer
