Introducing Local Dial a Ride and Community Transport Services

Dear Parish Clerk/Parish representative

West Wratting PC received this email from one of the Customer Relations Officers working at the Cambridgeshire & Peterborough Combined Authority to improve transport accessibility across Cambridgeshire and Peterborough.

I’m reaching out to introduce myself and share details of community transport services provided locally for residents who cannot easily use conventional public transport. These services are vital for supporting independence and reducing isolation in our communities and are mostly provided by charitable organisations.

As well as providing local transport for residents, three of the services FACT, CamDAR and the TVN are qualified to provide minibus driver awareness (MiDAS ) training MiDAS Minibus driver assessments and training » UK Global Road Safety – UKGRS Online Driver Training. By offering training to other local minibus users such as community groups and schools these, Dial a Rides generate income enabling them to keep providing their services and to keep fares low. Posters for local promotion of the MiDAS training will be available and sent to you in the coming week. [Note: when these are received I’ll put them up on the village noticeboards and in the village hall]

In the meantime, your Parish plays an important role in helping residents access these services, and I would  appreciate if you would help distribute this information to individuals and community groups in your area who would benefit from using these services, as you know your area and have the contact details and links of key residents and groups. I would like to work with you to achieve this.

Details of the local Dial a Ride services by area are below:
