Sadly Helping Hands is no longer in existence, and the Good Neighbourhood scheme in Balsham does not cover transport for West Wratting.
Balsham Helping Hands is a local volunteer group offering lifts to people in need of help to reach local destinations.
It serves the villages of Balsham, West Wratting and West Wickham, with Weston Colville joining from January 2017.
Destinations include Linton (most common), Addenbrookes Hospital, Chesterton Hospital, Haverhill, Newmarket, Saffron Walden and Sawston, with an average return journey length of around 12 miles.
Charge to passengers is 30p per mile.
To call on the service ring 07399 263222.
This is a dedicated line operated by volunteer coordinators.
Drivers get 15p per mile from Cambridgeshire County Council, who also cover insurance. Helping Hands is always looking for more drivers. If you would consider helping, please contact Sara Himsworth on 893975 or e-mail.
