Cambridgeshire Police wish to advise members of the public that they have  received a report that an elderly female was approached in her car whilst sitting in the Retail Park, off Newmarket Road, Cambridge by a male and female who didn’t speak very good English, asking for directions whilst holding a large map. The lady assisted them and later discovered that her credit card had been stolen and money withdrawn. It is suspected that persons may have watched the lady whilst she was at a nearby checkout and witnessed her entering her PIN number, then followed her to her vehicle in order to distract her with the map and steal her card. Please be vigilant whilst using your card and entering your PIN. Please contact Cambridgeshire Police if you have been approached by persons asking for directions using a map soon after you have completed a purchase at a shop, and ensure you still have your credit card.
Take care and stay safe.Chris Wiseman PCSO Sawston police station
